cressida abbott
the abbott family were part of the high society in london, england. they were very distantly related to the royal family and would sometimes attend parties and soirées hosted by the royal family. this gave hugh abbott an incredible advantage when he went to university and, ultimately, started to work on international relations with other countries for the united kingdom. while at university he met his soon to be wife, freya, and the two had a daughter very early on in their marriage. they were completely content with their one child, as hugh often had to travel and the family would come with him. this would change when freya would find out that she was pregnant, fourteen years after the birth of her first child. they welcome cressida catherine into the world and immediately fell in love with her, hugh especially. cressida would prove to be trouble, though. she was a curious litte girl who knew what she wanted and knew that she wanted it now. freya and hugh would bend to her every will and wish. when her older sister went off to university and it was only cressida around she made use of the fact that she was now an only child and she played it up. her parents knew that they didn't need to give her everything that she wanted but they couldn't say no when she would pout until she got her way. her manipulation was never to scream and yell but to appear as sad as she possible coluld until she got her way. the family still maintained a level of social status and cressida made the most of it by appearing as prim and proper as she could in those circumstances. her mother put her into piano lessons early on, as a way to entertain guests, but also to give her poise and grace and cressida used it to her advantage. she also learned french from a young age simply because the family would go on holiday in paris frequently. cressida had always been popular in school due in part to her social status in high society but also because she was a gorgeous girl. she had a mean streak in her and would pick on other kids who were deemed unpopular. she did well in school, not top of her class even though she was smart enough for it, she put more of her attention into what her hair and makeup looked like than her homework. everything would turn upside down when her father told her that he was to run the embassy in the united states. cressida didn't want to go and leave all of her friends behind but this was one time where she wouldn't get her way - it was a done deal. she was fifteen when they family moved to san francisco and now she was the outcast. cressida hated going to school because now she was picked on for the way she talked, the way she dressed and her stuck up attitude. she kept to herself mostly for the first year, working on her grades and trying to get through everything the best that she could. finally in her second year at the school she made some new friends and rose up the chain to become a popular kid but it was certainly met with a lot of complications. she quickly made friends with those in the high society around san francisco and she enjoyed the beach. when she told her father that she was planning on taking a gap year to figure her life out he told her absolutely not and encouraged her to study international relations so she could potentially work at the embassy when the time came. it didn't seem like her father was going to give up on that one so she conceded and applied to stanford and was accepted, though her father may have had a little hand in that. cressida enjoyed university life and she lived on campus and was known to go to a few parties. during her sophomore year she met a young man who would change her life forever. he was so different from her in every way but she fell in love completely, although their relationship was full of ups and downs. during her junior year she did a semester abroad to france and the two were broken up during that time period. she met a couple of french boys to have flings with but her mind always came back to him. little did she know that everything would come crashing down when he met back up with his ex-girlfriend and cressida was left out in the dust for good this time. she had the stiff upper lip that her parents had taught her but it didn't make it any better. she graduated from stanford in may 2018 with a bachelor of arts in international relations and opted to take time off to travel and 'find herself'. she's still getting over her breakup that occured in 2017 and trying to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. she still attends high society functions around the san francisco area, as well as travels back to london for events and to see friends. Crystal was the second child born to the Inhuman nutritionists Quelin and Ambur. She is considered part of the Royal Family of Attilan. Like her older sister, Medusa, Crystal was subjected to the Terrigen Mist when she was an infant, and the process endowed her with certain mental powers.
